My best friend is supposed to be 30 weeks pregnant but she went to the doctors and they told her that her baby looks like a 35 weeker. That means that she only has 5 weeks left instead of 10 weeks. Will they let her go full term or will they induce her before 40 weeks as long as she is okay and the baby is ready to be born? Serious answers only ........ Thanks

My doctor said they don't induce unless it's after 40 weeks- I went 41 weeks exactly and then went into labor. So they'll prob wait to see if she goes into labor first, then if it's after 40 weeks- shouldn't be longer than 42 weeks, they'd induce.

(I was supposed to be induced at 9:30am on that friday, but went into labor at 1:30am... kinda funny)

They usually dont let people go farther than 2 weeks past their due date, but they should do another sonagram to check the amniotic fluid level and a stress test to see if the baby is still confortable and content inside the uterus. They rarely induce before 40 weeks because the lungs are the last to develop and they want to make sure that the baby gains enough weight. If they are uncertain of how many weeks your friend is, they will most likely give her a stress test (moniter the baby's heartbeat for like 20mins) every week untill they decide to induce her or she goes into labor

It's supposed to be forty weeks from the day the last period started...doctors are soo weird sometimes...they thought my middle child weighed around 7.5-8 lbs when i was 35 weeks..they had done an ultrasound to determine if he was big enough cuz they wanted to induce me cuz my blood pressure was high. Well, they induced me for 3 days and he never came, so i went home and enjoyed(yeah, right) more bed rest....he came 4 days after his duedate and weighed 7 lbs , 14 oz...now u and i both know he didnt weigh that at 35 weeks!! lol....If I were ur friend , I would INSIST that they go by the original due date based on her last period

It could be one of two things. Either your friend is actually 30 weeks pregnant and the baby is very large, or she actually is 35 weeks pregnant and the baby will come sooner. It sounds like you don't know for sure.
If she is actually 30 weeks pregnant, have her be prepared to deliver a very large baby.
In either case, she should follow the advice of her doctor, and she might want to get her bags packed five weeks early just in case.
I'm sure they'll let her go full term unless a medical complication arises or unless she goes two weeks overdue. In cases like these where they are not certain of due dates, it's up to the doctor.

i had my little girl on DEC 21 of 2005 the induced me Early and she was a very healthy baby didn't weigh a lot but healthy so even if they don't induce or if they do the doctor knows what there doing and your friend will know too. tell her to trust her instinct what she feels right is always the best

At the point of 30 weeks +++ you can usually tell the correct age of the baby by ultrasound... they will let her go untill 42 weeks ultrasound age... but she will probably have the kid before that. every week before 42 weeks that the baby is in is better... so they will probably not induce her early.

ok, well i don't really get ur question- but, as long as she feels fine, there's no need for her to be induced. full term is actually anywhere from 38 weeks to 42 weeks in pregnancy. she will know when the baby is ready to come out- trust me! til then, she should take this time to prepare herself for the birth of her baby.

Because of the differences in due dates, they will most likely let her go a couple of weeks longer than the original due date, just in case she isn't 35 weeks instead of 30.

They won't induce until after the due date has passed.

Wow, I would hate to be told "Whoops! Your baby's is coming 5 weeks earlier than you thought!" Good luck to her.

Im sure they will do the "wait and see" deal. Who knows, she might go into labor by herself at around that time so they won't need to induce her.
