In my view, the best way up there is to drive. You need the transportation to visit the attractions, trekking and plantations, as they are scattered in the hills.
In my view, stay in Strawberry Park as its a hotel apartment, and the location is quite central.
Enjoy your holidays!

as lootai said, driving there is a better choice so you can rent a car. go there on week day[avoid weekend n public/school holidays because it could be very crowded] hence you have much to choose from, shop around at Tanah Rata or Brinchang, check out their room/hotel before decide, get a Cameron map to look for those attraction. For me the best has to be Boh tea plantation where one get to know how the green tea leaves turn into the hot brewing tea we sip through knowledgeable factory visit ! Not forget to sample the 'steamboat' [one got to boiled/cooked their own food/meat/vegetable n dips with chili/soya sauces]as well, its simply delicious ! Happy holiday !
