Dont worry about the insurance thing, i didnt get a check up with my first preg. untill i was 4 months... You should expect a swab of the cervix to check for various things, also blood tests and a urine test... maybe even an ultrasound... every doctor does things different, but no matter the order they do things, you will be fine. You should definentally have an ultrasound at 20-22 weeks, then you can see if your havin twins or boy or girl, and how everything is going... sometimes docs order an ultrasound at 14 weeks, that is only to see if everything is well, and you may not be able to telll the sex yet.

I work in an ob/GYN office, and I can tell you what we do. On your visit, you will most likely have a vaginal ultrasound to confirm that the pregnancy is in the uterus, an that there is a heart beat visible. They will take your blood pressure, check your urine for glucose and protein, an check your weight. If you are due for your annual pap smear, they may do that as well. They may order some bloodwork on you as well, which is normally done around 16 weeks of pregnancy, but sometimes sooner. Don't worry about it too much, because it is really no big deal. Good luck!

I would think they will get all of your past medical/surgical history. Get a height and weight. They will measure your abdomen from the top of your pubic bone to your navel. They will do an ultrasound or schedule just a baseline one asap and they will draw blood or send you to a lab to have your blood drawn. They will then give you a bunch of pregnancy info, maybe a What to Expect book, answer any questions you have and schedule for your next appointment in 4 to 6 weeks. Congratulations.

the comparable fundamentals. you do not get to have any exciting till the subsequent examine up, whilst maximum medical doctors will carry out the ultrasound and additionally you come across out toddler's gender. The wellness care professional is in certainty going to learn on your uterus and how plenty it has greater desirable up, blood tension to make certain you and toddler are superb, and take a urine pattern to confirm your HCG stages are going up. it may no longer seem as though plenty yet whilst any of it is low or no longer starting to be which would be a demonstration that something would be incorrect with toddler. different than that, very uninteresting.

They will probably do a pelvic, measure your belly and test your urine. Expect a big pile of paper and infomation to read over.
The prenatal appointments aren't a big deal until the last month or so.

if you have not had a pap smear yet they will probaly do that. they may check for your babys heartbeat (usually they do this at 12 weeks), they will do your bloodwork if you've not already had this done. family history. the first visit is mainly a getting to know you visit.
good luck

with mine, they started by weighing me (damn I hate that) asking me about previous pregnancies if I smoke drunk all those doctor questions. Then they checked to see if the baby was high enough to hear the heart beat, which sounds like galloping horses, yeah thats about all for my one
