Unfortunately pancreatitis is a very serious problem, usually ending in the death of the person.
Probably your friend has a depression, and that is the reason she doesn't want to quit drinking. If this is the case then first of all her depression has to be treated, maybe with medication given by a psychiatrist. Normally, when somebody doesn`t want to take medications in this circumstances, somebody from the family or friend takes charge and gives the pills with or without the patients knowledge. It has to be done this way because its a matter of life.
If you think your friend is depressive, consult a psychiatrist.

Yeah, I suggest you talk to her family, and they can get her the help she needs. It sounds like she has a suicide wish. If she don't quit drinking, she is going to die real soon. You can not live without a pancreas and there are no transplants for them.
Then, pray for her to start recovering. The pancreas does not heal like the liver can.

She is going to die if she doesn't stop drinking immediately. Even then, the damage may not be reversible. But it least they can try to treat it.
If she won't stop drinking then she will die very soon. I bet she has kidney and liver problems, too.

1) She needs to quit drinking. No if's, and's or but's about it. She needs to quit. 2) She needs to see a doctor. Please encourage her to see one. Also, since she most likely developed this due to her drinking, she is more susceptible to diabetes...which she needs even more supervision of a doctor. If she needs help quitting drinking, there are many ways to find out about programs through her physcian. Above all else, please...again, encourage her to see a doctor.
