HI I bought the bare minerals packet with brushes and stuff but besides the fact that when I put it on it makes my skin look flaky, What does the mineral vail do?

you use the mineral veil last. it's supposed to help the other makeup stay on longer and keep a fresher look on your face

If your skin looks flaky, you must have very dry skin. Try this: exfoliate your skin and moisturize. When your moisturizer is dry, shake some of the bare minerals into the lid of the jar. Swirll the brush around in the jar, then tap off the excess. Lightly buff the makeup onto your skin in a circular motion. Follow with the mineral veil in the same manner.

Did you not get the DVD that tells you how to use everything? Mineral Veil is just a setting powder that you put on last to cover shine and set the makeup to make it last longer. it also makes your pores less visible. you are putting on too much if it looks flaky, or you arent using enough moistuizer before you put your make up on. you should always use a good facial moisturizer, especially when using bare minerals, because since its in powder form it will dry up any oil you do have on your face, resulting in it looking "flaky".
**Also the skin Revver-Upper, Bare Vitamins, is NOT a moisturizer, in fact it might have a drying effect for some ppl. You can use a moisturizer OVER the Revver-Upper**

I work in a bare escentuals boutique and from the sound of it, you're applying your makeup wrong. You need to make sure that your foundation minerals are being tucked inside your brush then tap off excess and buff your face starting at the hair line working in circular motions going down. Mineral veil goes on last and will help to set your makeup for longer lasting coverage. If you have oily skin its also good to cover shininess. Good Luck!

Make sure to moisturize your face before you put on the makeup.
Bare Escentuals also has a primer, called "Rever-Upper" which is filled with vitamins and helps your makeup stay on longer.
The Mineral Vail should be used last, which helps your makeup stay put and look really natural. Hope this helps!

it makes your skin look natural. I also bought bare minerals as well and have been using it for 6 months now and I will never never never go to liquid makeup ever again. did you get a bottle of liquid with your bare minerals? It is a lotion that has vitamins in it and it is for skin with dryness or oilyness. That should be put on before you put the makeup on. The liquid soaks up into the skin to give you a replenished look

put on Photo Finish Primer by Smashbox before you put Bare mineral and it will look flawless. I usually put moisturiser, primer, foundation and last mineral vail. Mineral veil works like a powder.

The mineral veil "sets" your make up. I never use it. I don't like it.
If your skin is looking dry, you're using too much. A little goes a very long way. It should 'accent' not 'cover.'

Mineral Veil is used as a finishing powder, but I would suggest using something else. This product contains parabens, which can be harmful.

the mineral veil leaves a nice transparent finish and minimizes pores.
