I love the Phoenix from the comic books, she was awesomely powerful, yet retained all of Jean Grey's memories, quirks and feelings, which was ultimately the key to her undoing. The movie version of Phoenix was sooooo weak...

Before I begin, I have to say that I liked Jean Grey and her relationship with Scott Summers and her 'relationship' with Wolverine before she became Phoenix in both the comics and movies. I liked both the movie version of the Phoenix and the comic version for different reasons. I liked the movie version because she almost seemed like a completely new person who could be swayed towards good or evil because she didn't know any better. In the comics I liked her becuase she was just everything magnified. She was Jean Grey's love for Scott magnified. She was Jean Grey's loyalty to her friendships magnified. Finally, she was evil magnified. This, I believe, is the best part about her. First, she had no remorse. In the scene in the comics where she destroys an entire planet, she never shows any remorse but the Phoenix is ultimately defeated by Jean Grey herself, which is a classic example of the good. vs. evil conflict happening inside her and what some may say is happening inside every one of us just on a smaller scale.

As Dark Phoenix, she destroyed a planet because she WANTED to. The movie version of Phoenix was confused, inept, and weak. The original comic book, though, is pure feminist power.

I have always liked Jean Grey! She began as a weak character. The token female. And became THE MOST POWERFUL member! As Phoenix she embodies PURE POWER! No other mutant can compare to her and her power. In the Movie ONLY Wolverine could stand up to her and it was killing him! NO ONE could even stand NEXT to her if she didnt want them to! NOT even Magneto could beat her. In the comics she had that Phoenix Effect, which was the HUGE FLAMING BIRD! IT was sooooooooooooooooo beautiful and reallly reallllly showed off just how power she was. She could destroy WHOLE solar systems!

I definitely have an emotional connection to the comic version. Sure, the vast cosmic powers thing is cool...and sure, being able to eat an entire sun is cool...but for me, it's her innate ability to do no wrong. Jean epitomized what it means to be a superhero. She always did what was best for world…for the universe, even if it meant destroying herself.

Wolverine - i like his history, i like his warfare along with his animal nature and his understanding of honor. one among my well known sequence grew to become into the Woverine/Kitty Pryde in Japan sequence, nevertheless i've got faith the critics hated that one. no longer a great comics individual, so I ought to count on my acquaintances who're for this way of information... I can't stand her.
One of marvel's dumbest decisions was to bring jean grey back the first time. She should have stayed dead.
The story arc leading up to her original death was one of the best x-men stories ever and bringing her back (then killing her again) cheapens it.

I just think she's HOT! The long flowing red hair, the eyes, and the way she moves.
