Actually, I've found that MOST of the time, the best thing to do is just show up at the parking lost and buy tickets from some head. NOT a scalper, mind you, but a fan. The trick is to look for somebody who looks like they belong there. Usually, they're willing to let go of the ticket at a discount, just so they can get some of their money back and get inside before the show starts. Here's what usually happens: The band announces that they're playing at a certain place, so fan boy asks all of his friends if they want to go. Seven people say "Yeah, I'll go!" So, fan boy buys 8 tickets. The day of the concert rolls around and only three people show up. Now fan boy's got 4 extra tickets he needs to get rid of before the show starts. That's when you cash in :)

iv been to loads and loads and loads of gigs and concerts...

im going to see rancid, tenatious d, taste of chaos and iron maiden in the next two months, iv been to about 27 gigs already this year...

i bought each and everyone of them from www.aloud.com

they are a great site and the tickets are sent by recorded delivery so i can track where they are, i also have the option to put insurance on them too...

they also come in no less than 5 days if they are vailable...

otherwise theres a shop in my nearest city that actually has a bunch of tickets there for me to buy...so that ways the easiest but its very rare to get good band tickets at places like that...

i wouldnt mention if id had any problems...

oh and they ask for ID when they hand the ticket over to make sure you do get them...x

I've always found that using money, be it pounds, dollars or whatever currency you have avaialble at the time is very effective. If anybody knows of a cheaper way perhaps they could post the answer here.
