I'm 24 and have 3 children. Thinking about one more. I have the copper T-IUD. It doesn't release any hormone. Will it have any effects on how long it will take to concieve?

IUD's DO NOT cause INFECTION! they make it harder to treat but if you and your significant other are monogamous you don't need to worry about this at all!!!

IUD's do not in any way affect you from having children in the future unless you or your partner are promiscuous and catch an infection which isn't treated properly! Usually 80% of women who stop using any form of IUD get pregnant within 1 year the others is due to many factors age, previous infections, diet, weight etc...

Previous deliveries themselves don't usually do much to affect future deliveries, although people who have had a previous pregnancy will have some different things in subsequent pregnancies, such as having the baby drop sooner.

If you were left with any minor "mechanical situtations" related to the stuff involved in delivery they could be aggravated with another delivery, but those types of things don't have to big big problems.

As long as you're healthy a fourth delivery shouldn't be a big deal.

What you do need to be concerned about, I would think, is the IUD. There is always the risk of infections with IUD's anyway, and there was a time when IUD's didn't give off any hormones - they worked just by being in place (if I remember correctly). You do need to talk to your doctor about that fact that you have the IUD and ask what possible consequences of trying to conceive may be.

Your body is pretty resilient and can handle alot of births usually. If something had happened to effect a future birth, they'd hopefully catch it. I think hemmoroids can become more of an issue the more kids you have, just because of the strain of carrying and pushing out a child. But unless the doctor has told you something specific, you should be fine to have more. I'm 26 with 3 and planning 1 more, and my body is ok to continue having kids. I know I get anemia each pregnancy, but that is the only thing I have to watch.

I HAVE HEARD THAT HAVING AN IUD CAN PREVENT FUTURE PREGNANCY'S OR TAKE A LONG TIME TO GET PREGGERS. MY GYN TOLD ME THIS WHEN I HAD MY DAUGHTER. THEY USALLY ONLY USE THEM ON WOMEN WHO ARE DONE HAVING KIDS.
