My husband has a cockiteil (spelled wrong) and I believe he is now 28 years old. One day I looked up some info. and found out as long as this bird stays healthy, he could live to be 90 years old! When someone knock on the door, he yells out,"come on in!"
Then the person comes in, and he yells out, "shut the f--kin door!
Yeah, whoever had him "before" my husband, evidently cussed a lot! The phone rings, and I answer it, and this bird yells out, "hello, how are you? I'm fine, how bout you? He dances to Stevie Wonder songs, and then takes a bow when he's finished.
I had trouble sleeping one night, so I took a sleeping aid, and went to sleep. About 2 hours later, this bird starting screaming at the top of his lungs, like he was being attacked! Someone in the neighborhood heard him and called the police. They came to the door and I had to explain that it was my husbands bird they heard screaming! One of the officers asked me, "are you sure it's not a "female?" Eh heh...very funny mr. cop.

My oldest living pet is a cat that is 13 months old - I have four pets total (the other kitty is 6 months, hampster is 8 months, fish is 10 months)
My oldest pet ever was my aunts cat when she lived with us - she lived to be 26, and my dog lived to be 18.

I know you said "oldest living pet" but I had a cat that lived to be 20. We had to put her down due to the fact she couldnt hold her bladder anymore and she was deaf & blind.
But now, I have a dog who is 10, a 4 year old cat, a 1.5 year old cat and a 7 month old cat - all boys...sheesh!

My oldest pet at the moment is my dog; who is 8 years old. Not very old I know but I only have a dog, guinea pigs (tend to live for 5-ish years), a hedgehog (same as guineas), and a rabbit (8-ish years).
Before that was my cat who died on her 18th birthday (she was older than me!)
