THE SOFTWARE IS IN Windows XP. You will require a scanner and scanner software if you want to fax a hard copy document.

If you are faxing to a local number, there is no additional charge.
If you are faxing to a number that is long distance, normal charges will apply.

First there is a better type of software for free on the internet, at www.download.com, look under the Business tab.

As far as long distance, the only way you can send faxes is with a dialup connection, you have to be directly connected to the phone line, and the local phone company determines the charge, local, local toll call and then long distance, I work for the defunked MCI years ago, and had customer call about charges, and linked to faxes they send.

Check with your local phone company or customers to see if it is a toll or long distance call to reach them, then determine them as you need.

Hello,

I used to do technical support for a company called MyFax. Its great and its a high tech reliable service try it and I gurantee you will be hooked. You get your first month free and then its 10$ additionally should you decide that you like the service. You can send faxes right from MS word, Outlook, and online.

you will need a fax program (like WINFax or GFI Faxmaker). you won't need a fax unless you want to send something that is not in a digital format. as long as you have a high-speed internet connection, there shouldn't be any long distance charges.
