I can't update my ipod to version 1.2 because i have no 'firmware file'. Does any one have any ideas?

i have an ipod video. i need to update it to 1.2 to sync a video onto the ipod but it won't let me because i have no firmware file. What do i do?

you need to i am afraid, format your iPod and re-install all your music***.... which you do by downloading the latest itunes7, and doing the restore (***if you enable hidden files.. then open the control file on your ipod, there will be all the music files.. open each file in turn and select all then move them to your pc harddrive..then format iPod using fat32 and ignore quick format!) then put all your songs back on iPod good lucks
