Underneath it "Nietzsche Is Dead" - God

Neither. There are plenty of folks who would say that God isn't dead (I live in the USA, which is predominately Christian).

At my Sunday school, the teacher used to say: If you felt close to God at one time, but don't so much any more, guess who moved?

Well, that's not a good way of looking at it. Instead, look at the Old Testament. There were times when God was obvious and present and awe-inspiring, and inspiring through great leaders.

Then there were long periods, generations, where it seemed that God wasn't around -- the only people he was talking to were the few high priests who were waving bloody bits of beef around the Temple. Whenever God was "absent" from the people in this way for a few generations, they'd marry the locals and start picking up other religious practices. Then God would make a new leader, have him beat up everyone who'd gone heathen, and everyone would be worshipping God for a while -- and then he'd take another vacation (or so it seemed). Lather, rinse, repeat.

Right at the moment, we're at 1,970 years plus for not seeing direct action of God. With the previous example of the Israelites moving away from God when He was less obvious, it's no wonder that we're moving away from Him.

To quote a song: "Baby if you want me to be, closer to you, get closer to me."

If God exists then nothing killed him/her etc, including reason and logic. If not, then still nothing happened as you can't kill what doesnt exist.
