in this episode... when joey went to this oddition...that he was suppose to be not jew..when The Casting Director told him he must be authentically, anatomically not Jewish.. i dont understand wht they wanted him to be?? when monice tried to help him... can anyone explain plz

He was supposed to be uncircumcised.
Jewish men (and most other men) are circumcised at birth.
In the movie Joey was auditioning for, the girl was supposed to have never seen a penis that is uncircumcised.
So Monica helped him make a "wrap". She made a few, but ultimately he chose the silly putty.

He was auditioning to play a character who had to be uncircumcised. Joey, like most men in the U.S. these days, was circumcised, so Monica used lunch meat to make a phony foreskin for him to wear. It fell off in the midst of the audition.

Historically circumcision was done only on Jews. Of course now almost every male has it done (for hygenic purposes). But that's what they were talking about
