Add/remove should have taken it out. However, you have to remove anything with the name Norton or the name Symantec.
I wrote the following for a lady that wanted to remove AOL from her PC. Where I use the word AOL, substitute in Norton and then Symantec. So you'll end up doing two removals; one for Norton and the other for Symantec.
Good luck.
***************************************************************
GETTING RID OF AOL ON YOUR PC
Do yourself a BIG favor. Remove anything on your PC that even mentions AOL. It is a resource hog and simply tries to take over your pc.
Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove any AOL programs residing there.
Now click on Start > Search > For Files or Folders > All Files and Folders
type in AOL in the top box and let the computer do a complete search of your hard drive. When it is done, click on Edit at the top of the window and click on Select All
Then click on File and click on Delete. It will ask you if you want to remove them. Click on Yes.
If you want to REALLY finish the job:
NOTE: DON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE IN THE REGISTRY OTHER THAN WHAT I MENTION HERE. If you are not familiar with editing the registry and you do other things you may give yourself some big headaches.
Click on Start > Run >
type in regedit
click once on the very top directory to hilite it.
Hold down Ctrl + F; this will open a search window
type in AOL and then click on Find Next
when it finds an AOL entry, right click on it and select Delete and yes. (Do this if it is a folder in the left hand pane or if it is an entry in the right hand pane)
Hold down Ctrl + F again and repeat the process until you have cleaned your registry of all AOL items.
This may be a very tedious process so hang in there.
When you think you have it all out. Go back up to the top directory in the left pane, hilite it, and search for AOL once again just to make sure you didn't miss any.
Once you are completely done. Reboot your PC. This will reset the registry.

They know that they are garbage. In my spare time I test antiviurs an antispyware program to see if they perform as claimed. An also to check and see if there is any embedded trojans, adware in their program or the wizard installer used to guide you through the installation.
What is so funny is that Nortons is well aware of the junk that they sell, so they will go as far as they can to keep their junk in your computer if you are one of the suckers who purchased their product. (They actually punish you if you ever try and remove their product from their system).
It was a living H E L L, when I tested their program. Did not know one trojan or any other kind of virus when it was right in their face. Even if it did, it was unable to remove. The H E L L, came when I went to remove Nortons from my pc. You may thing that the add/remove will remove Nortons, don't kidd yourself.
What you have is 350 plus fragments of Nortons glued to all of your files/folders and hidden all over your system.
You really have to be an expert to remove their software because of all of the fragments that are left behind to cause you serious conflict with your system..
I was able to remove all 350 plus fragments with a software program that I purchased from http://www.rosecitysoftware.com
Their Registry First Aid program. Program is not free, but if you are smart you can dellete all the fragments from your registry during the evaluation period. I have used this program for nine years an never once has it removed a key that would crash/destroy my system.
First run "Check registry for errors. When the program scan you will see all associated registry keys for Nortons/Symantec. Delete all the check marks with green yellow and red. Don't be afraid to delete all, as there is a backup of all deleted that you can find at serch your files, type in backups. When your system scans you will see "RFA Backups", open and there are the backup registry keys..
Now with "search the registry", you type in symantec add and type in nortons add to the scan an all associated registry will come up. All you have to do is left click on each registry key that shows and drop down where the arrow is on the right side to you see "delete string". (Delete every one of these registry keys as they are the 350 fragments or more left behind). Likewise they go to the backup I spoke about above.
You will find that if you go to start, run and type in c://program files, browse, program files and look for symantec, you will not be able to remove the file. Will say file is in use, unable to remove.
After you have used the Registry First Aid program to rid yourself of all the 350 plus fragments left that cause serious conflict with all of your programs, reboot your pc. The go back to run, type in c://program files, browser, program files, and you will see symantec. This times when you open and delete the file will delete. And you are rid of the fragments.
Get rid of this junk and get http://www.avast.com Free state of the art technology. As one of the very best backgound scanners that scans in real time and will never miss any hidden embedded virus in a webpage. Plus gives you twice or three times per day virus data base updates automatic.

Login as Administrator and uninstall both. Do uninstall Blueyonder too. And regarding Blueyonder use, buy a network cable for around 1-2 pounds, and connect through it. You do not need any software like blueyonder and you will free one USB too. Works perfectly fine for me.
