Why do we have to pay extra for a house because it has a beautiful view?

Why do people who get their water from wells are alive and healthy. The reason that the water is polluted is because of people. The people who did not have their water purified and bottled are healthier than we are.

If you want free water, go collect it from the nearest lake or river. if you don't want to pay for the good view, buy a cheaper place with a nice view of a brick wall or cemetery. That's just the way it is.

> Why do we have to pay for water?
1. You can keep the water that falls onto your house as rain for free.
2. The water that you get from your faucets fell somewhere else. The person that owns the land where the rain fell may want money for the water.
3. It takes a lot of energy to pump water from place to place, and that costs money.

That's capitalism. If you didn't pay extra, then someone else would, and the seller is looking for the person who will pay the most within a reasonable period of time.

We pay for the delivery of the water and the processing to make it 'safe' to use. The water is free. Just put a barrel outside to catch it when it rains.

More people want a beautiful view than a view of the city dump (at least I hope so). When the demand goes up, the price goes up.

Take an economics course or two. You might actually learn something.

I'm sure you are more than welcome to strap a water bag onto your back, hike to the river, and fill it up. Unfortunately it will be full of impurities, excrement, chemicals, etc. You are paying for someone to collect the water, filter it, purify it, fortify it with fluoride, and channel it through an intricate system of pipes so that it runs out of pipes in your very own house. Thousands of people are employed to make sure this process isn't interrupted.

A house with a beautiful view is more expensive than one, say overlooking a stockyard, because people are willing to pay more for it. They aren't buying the view, and you don't have to pay to see it--only to live there.

We pay for water because it has been chemically treated and cleansed for our health benefits (dystentery is horrible). If you own your own well, you pay the electric company to provide you with electricity to pump the water out of the ground for you. If you don't want to pay that, then install a hand pump. You pay extra for a house with a beautiful view because it is worth more than a house with a view of a garbage heap.

Basically because most people think of things like that as property. You have to pay extra because if you didn't someone else would. It's supply and demand, even though you can't "create" coastlines or warm weather. If all houses had beautiful views that wouldn't be a factor. It's kind of stupid, I guess, but its just the way we humans do things.

Someone has to CLEAN the water you get from your faucets, and pump it to your house. These things cost money.
As for the house, everyone wants a beautiful view, so there is competition for the site and so they can charge more.

I dont think we actually pay for the water. I think it is the service that comes with it...like purifying it. That takes a plant which takes money to run. So its the protection of our health we are paying for.

Because people would rather live in a house with a beautiful view, so they will pay more and the value is more.

Water costs money because it costs money to treat it and distribute it.
