I was at a party recently with my sister, 53yrs old. I'll be forty in a few months. My sis & her friends all in their 50's now, said that for a woman the forth decade of her life is the best. By then the kids are not so demanding, the husband has softened, she still looks & feels good, she can focus on herself for once. I've been dreading the big 40 but now I'm not so hesitant. Tell me more...

Wow 40 was the bomb. Right, the kids are grown, the man is mellower, the grass is greener, the sky is bluer, the period is still a (you know what), but life is such a great thing to experience. At 40 you realize that you don't have to put up with the crap that other people want to give you, you have worked on being a woman now for 40 years, so as you get older, you get better at this thing called womanhood. Hormones might creep in because the body will start to go through all types of changes, not that it hasn't already gone through changes. You lived through adolescent, teenage years, the 20s, your 30s, so you have come a lot father than many. Keep a positive attitude and accept what you want to accept, you will no longer be passive in many ways, embrace 40 it is a blessing and in this day and age, 40 is the new 30 something. My sister also turns 40 this year and I have been ragging her constantly, hey someone has to keep reminding her of it, she did it to me when I turned 40.

There are many out there who dread that “over the hill” birthday—the one that marks the end of youth—but now is the best time of your life! With the average life expectancy around 80, you've barely reached the middle.

I know for me I was more sexy at 40 than I was at 20 . I couldn't get enough ! No complaints form my husband either . I was also free to come and go as i pleased , so it was great all way around .

Don't worry... it keeps on getting better. You are a more matured woman now atleast sexually. Also, a lot of younger males are excited about being with a 40+ woman.

I'm having the best time of my life at 40. Like many answered, you start paying attention to yourself, and yes I do come and go as I please, in other words... no inhibitions whatsoever. Enjoy it, live it, and love it.
