If its ok for muslims, is it not acceptable for Christians? Why doesn’t the pope declare a Holy War in response to the Jihad against non-muslims? Or as a response to the slaughter of Christians in Sudan?

Could it have something to do with the fact that Christianity was based on the teachings of Jesus – a man who preached peace, forgiveness of ones enemies, love for ones neighbor. While Islam is based on the teachings of Mohammed – a man who preached violence towards anyone who did not accept Islam, violence towards those who questioned his teachings, and forced his beliefs on others through war?

Christians are civlized compared to Muslims. I don't care that people say Islam is peaceful. The current and past events all speak for themselves. Muslims are filled with negativety to the West. They love to live here though but they want everything their way or else they whine about been attacked.

I mean, make a joke that Islam is a violent religion (eg: the infamous cartoon) and how do they respond? With world-wide violence. Kind of just supports the statement!

I mean the closest Christianity got to a 'jihad' was the Crusades. But Muslims will have a jihad over almost anything. As much as I don't like Christianity (been anti-religious) I must admit they are all about peace.

Another reason why Islam and the West don't mix.

One thing you must understand about Jihadists that blow people up and wage a "Holy War" is that these people are hypocrits. These extremists believe that being a martyr will get them into Heaven because the Quran says so. It does not. Nowhere does the Quran advocate such violence. Also these people are "orthodox" Muslims. They kill people in their regions for using ice because ice was not around in Muhammad's time and they believe we should not use anything that was not aroung in Muhammad's time. YET, these men go out and shoot AK-47s and other weapons which were not invented until HUNDREDS of years after Muhammad. They also use bombs which were not around during his time either. If these men were as religious and devout as they say they are they would be fighting our troops with swords and bows and arrows.
Wherever you heard Muhammad preached violence is completely wrong. He actually preached love and peace, like Jesus, which is why these Jihadists are even more hypocritical. He preached that it didn't matter whether or not they embrace Islam because they will have to answer to Allah after they die. Islam is a peacful religion which these Jihadists have twisted and spinned to support them. Christians do not have a cause inwhich to deface their religion and denounce the other religions of the world. Both religions teach the acceptance of other religions and preach peace and love. NEITHER PREACHES VIOLENCE IN ANYWAY!

Politicians who are Godless leaders have manipulated and taught people Christianity over the last 20 centuries .
It has been used since the roman times to combat the people who follow what they hear and are easily manipulated .
We have a division today in religion and those who believe and those who do not .The reason is no one was forced in the last 30 years to learn any religion at all in school and it is under attack from the people who Know that no religion has the answer to any question man wants answered .
If you are smart then you have watched so called educated people fall under the control of others and follow blindly regardless of age religion or wealth .
They are insecure people who only wish to follow the rules and recieve the promised reward .
Religion is just that simple ,follow the rules and you live forever .

Follow democrats or republicans or who ever and you get what you deserve .
The rules are open to some major interpitation and anyone who wants can become wealthy enough to never have to work again in about 5 years given some information on how people think and re-act .
You must learn to play on peoles emotions and insecurities and just give them a path and some rules to follow and you will be fine .

I am an ex Atheist (Anti Christ) troll. That is why I suffer this question and reply discussion board. Sometimes I take a holiday however I consistently come again. Love isn't consistently approximately being satisfactory to individuals. Love is maintaining their welfare above our possess. Sometimes somewhat of difficult love is wanted to check out and holiday by way of the self based conceitedness and pleasure which might be the crowning jewels of the R&S Atheist. But the reason is consistently to stitch the positive seeds that can ultimately lead from demise into existence permanent. Many instances I discover their mocking quite humorous or even think responsible for laughing. We as Christ fans have plenty of faults too. I realize I do. Sometimes it is rather useful to have them mentioned. Even if the character mocking me or Jesus has not anything however depraved reason.

No, it is just that they cannot get away with it yet. Christianity’s history is every bit as violent as Islam's. Christians can whack off heads with the best of them. As John Adams, Founding Father and second president of the US stated:

•“What a mercy it is that these People cannot whip and crop, and pillory and roast, as yet in the U.S.! If they could they would.”

Conservative Christians are trying to achieve the political power that will allow them top follow their brutally judgmental and human-hating God.

Conservatives and the religious right want to destroy the US Constitution and the democratic government it created and replace it with a Theocratic government (they want America to be a Christian Saudi Arabia). The are eager to start torturing and killing all the nonbelievers in America and then rest of the world. Contrary to their claims, there is not a single reference to God, Jesus, or Christianity anywhere in the Constitution. America was founded as a secular democratic republic.

By unanimous approval of the 1797 U.S. Congress:

“As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion”
http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/diplomacy/barbary/bar1796t.htm

This is not the first time Christians have tried to undermine the government and overthrow the country. In 1864, 1874, 1896 and 1911, they tried to pass amendments that would rewrite the Constitution to include references to God. Today’s Christian terrorists wish America harm as well. On 9/11 both Falwell And Robertson said that God had brought down the trade towers and killed 3,000 because he was angry with America and that we deserved it because we had brought it on ourselves.

We will never know if Adams was right when he wrote,” This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!”, because we likely we never find out. But we do know that if the Christian religious-right gains control of America, then only terrorists will control the world. How can deal with Islamic terrorists abroad when we have Christian terrorist traitors at home?.

Well, I'm not a practicing Christian, but I would venture to guess that it's because modern Christianity is anti-violence. They teach love and compassion instead of jihad. I have had to endure all kinds of disparaging comments against Christians since I work at a university, and it just astonishes me that these same people wouldn't dare slam Islam to a Muslim.

your right, many of us Christians are taught not to resort to violence, the hollywood media DOES have it our for us and many people want to ban us from existence, look what happened when passion of the Christ came out? there was a huge outburst by the media and almost everyone went to go see it! but i do think us Americans as Christians need to stand up against these people who are trying to take our nativity scenes, Good Fridays and basically our God given rights away, our country was built on judeo-christian philosophy and that is why we are so successful!
There are 2 things that will always be around, The Bible and cheating

If you know the answer to your question, why are you wasting five points asking it, realizing that the points are worth nothing? Christians have waged holy wars in the past, but I don't think they have had one since the Crusades, and I'm guessing that some of these "Christians" think that those wars were not theirs since at the time the only Christians that existed were Catholics.

No a CHristian should not lower him/herself to the level of the Muslim.
Note I am an agnostic but I'd much rather live under a Christian society than a Muslim one. Those people enjoy chopping off body parts to much for my liking.

You are totally right. Christianity is a peace-based religion. Christians don't claim to be perfect, but we do try to be as Jesus and turn the other cheek.
