Not only is the Grinch a better character, he has good character. Sure he initially goes through life acheiving some sense of accomplishment by causing sorrow in other people, but he eventually understands the harm he's caused and sets out to undo it. The Cat in the Hat reeks of pretention and *********. He's such a prima dona, dancing and prancing around as if he were the frontman for a famous rock band. Only, there's no band...just some bored naive children who would've equally welcomed the company of a dead moth. The Grinch rules.

The Grinch. At least he had meaning and purpose to his life.
Edit: Years ago, when I lived in a dorm, one of the cutest girls in the building was named Cindy Lou Hu, and we all watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas together one year.

The grinch (the cartoon). I watched it almost every year since I was a young child. My son watched from the time he was little and now my grand daugher is watching.

Both. I have always loved dogs, and i would still describe myself as a dog person, and i want a dog at some point in my life, i have had my two cats since september 2000 and i love them as family and i wouldn't trade them for the best dog in the world. People who say cats are not loving and playful just don't know many cats. They have different personalities just as people and dogs do. My cats talk/meow to/at me and have very expressive faces, you can easily tell when they are happy/sleepy/hungry/exasperated. They love to be hugged and stroked, they greet me when i come home, they are never violent except for playfights with eachother. My new kitten i'm sure will grow up to have a personality just as unique and lovable. The order of animals i love goes 1st. My cats 2nd. All dogs 3rd. All other cats 4th. Most other animals (not spiders)
