Plan ahead and buy things a year in advance at end-of-season sales. Hah! Yeah right... I know, not practical advice for right now.

Consignment shops are a good place to try, one near us has a maternity section. I love it. Old Navy is also good, look for an outlet.

When I was pregnant my mom turned some of her pants (she's way bigger than me) into maternity pants by sewing in a panel. She also made me one maternity top.

If you can, find a woman who's done having children, is about your size and willing to give away or sell cheap all her maternity clothes. Ask your midwife or ob-gyn if they know of anywhere you can get good cheap mat. clothes.

Good luck! I'm pregnant for the second time, and I followed all these suggestions first time round and also saved EVERYTHING. I have boxes and boxes to go through, but I know they're there so I won't have to spend extra money on clothes I already had. But I still check consignment stores, secondhand stores, and the sale section of maternity stores. In my opinion, spending a bit of money when you can, even if you won't wear it for a few months, is better than having NOTHING to wear in a few months and having to go out and pay full price.

I found a lot of cute stuff at Wal-Mart and various second hand stores. Depending on your size, you can also try shopping in the plus size dept. for maternity clothing too. The shirts are made with more tummy room, and I found tons of tops to wear that fit perfectly! That way you can shop at any store that carries plus size clothing and keep it cheap. It's a pain because maternity clothing is so darn expensive, and you really don't wear it for that long!

Old navy has some good sells I would also suggest Ross or Kohls. Target has nice clothes some are cheap and some not but every once in a while they have good sells, like last night I got a pair of jeans and a pair of kackis for 11 dollars each.

Ross, JC Penny, Target, Motherhood (on sale), Burlington, Old Navy and second hand stores...usually maternity clothes are only worn for a few months, so at a second hand store they are practically new and usually VERY cheap!
Congrats to you!

Also, its a little more expensive, but still cheap, OLD NAVY.

With my first pregnancy, i hadnt a clue where to shop for maternity clothing. Now, in my second pregnancy, i daily check eBay for new, or in good condition clothing. I have had some really nice clothes from there including Isabella Oliver. Alexa x
