What can I expect to see or hear when I go to my doctor at 6 weeks? Can you see or hear a heart beat???

I believe you can see a heartbeat by 6 weeks. On the ultra sound the baby now forming looks kinda like a peanut shape. It's very exciting. Good luck to you! You have a long ways to go. But as I remember it was a very beautiful exciting time.

You can't hear the heart beat until usually around 12 weeks. They will probably do a pelvic exam and some cultures (from down there) as well as taking urine and blood samples. Your doc will probably measure your uterus and you may even get an ultrasound. Make sure you ask lots of questions - because they don't always tell unless you ask. There are also lots of good and very informative websites that will give you lots of information about each week of pregnancy and even show you pictures of fetal development each week.

The baby's heartbeat is not detectable by doppler/ultrasound until at least 8-10 weeks.

Buy the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting" for some good pregnancy advice.

An internal ultrasound. It feels like a pap and you'll see the baby, looks like a lima bean. You can see a heartbeat.

I seen what looks like a small black bean, which is the baby. You might can see the heart, but not hear it.

About all you can expect now...Is to hear the heartbeat..And they will probably measure your tummy.
Other than that, Nothing 'exciting'.
