D- Llamo a la hermana de Pedro. (I call to Pedro's sister.) The reason is because "de" would change the meaning to "I call from Pedro's sister," which doesn't make sense. "El" makes no sense because the article "la" is already present, indicating that Pedro's sister is, in fact, a girl. "Del" means "from" when you use it with a masculine noun, so that's not going to work. "An" isn't even a Spanish word. Same with "e."

jennyv are you serious???? Don't they speak Spanish in Puerto Rico any more? Or is the teaching of Spanish grammar that bad in Puerto Rico? The correct answer is D but the reason you gave is horrible! the corresponding word to a masculine el is LA, not a!!! As the answer below yours says, the preposition a is used to mean to in this case, such as "I am calling (to) Pedro's sister."

The answer should be (D). when a word ends in a such as hermana it means it's a female word. so you would us a. Now if the word was a male word then you would use el.
