I would say do not drink, it is a drug that you do not need. HOWEVER that being said many a person and doctor says a half drink a day is fine.
I would make sure to eat well first and definitly no more than ONE, and I mean one serving, not well this counts as one because it is in one glass. A serving is 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine, or 1 ½ ounces of hard liquor.
However there are some very nice dealcoholized wines and you may find that if you are used to having mixed drinks you may be able to heat the alcohol long enough to remove the alcohol but keep the flavour. Like Irish Cream in milk, which was a fav of mine. Tastes pretty much the same if you burn off the alcohol first. Simmering 10-15 minutes gets rid of most of the alcohol, NOT ALL so even then I would limit it. But it is nice for a treat.
But you can have fun without alcohol if you try and one drink isn't going to make you much more "fun" anyway.

You are so selfish, why rick your baby's life/ having a hard life because you want to go out and have some fun. You can too go out and have without having a drink. I feel so sorry for your baby having a mother who only thinks about herself! And if you didnt want any opinions then you shouldnt have posted this question on here. Too late for this child but keep you legs closed because you are already being a horrible mom. You don't even give a damn about your own child. Thans just said.

OK girlfriend but let me just tell you what you might be looking at in years to come. I was 7 months pregnant with my 2nd child. I drank a fifth of Gin. Do you know my daughter is now 30 and ever since she's been old enough to drink she can't get up in the morning with out drinking a beer. So that was my f*ck up! I feel responsible every day for that! My daughter is beautiful, healthy, she has no children, and she works hard. But I just feel responsible for that one part in her life because of me drinking that 1 time while carrying her! Now I know you said you don't care what anyone says. But can't you just have a root beer float and call it a day?

If you are so worried about not having a good time without drinking.....you shouldn't be having a baby!!! I assure you, there are many not so good times to come!
You are incredibly selfish! How will you feel if your baby is born with or develops some kind of malformation or retardation? Even if it wasn't caused by the alcohol....you will always wonder!
Besides..what's the point of drinking if not for a buzz??? It's not like alcohol tastes good!
Shame on you....knowing that you are pregnant and still consuming alcohol...that is child abuse.

You always want to do everything you can to ensure your babies health, however, an occasional drink couldn't hurt. Just because you still want to have a good time and you're pregnant, I don't feel that should make you a person who shouldn't be pregnant. I'd guess that you are young and single. I was with my first. I think that just makes us human. Bottom line, my baby WAS my main concern and I did not indulge in anything, however, I did have an occasional drink here and there and God forbid, I smoked some pot!!

If you have to drink to have a good time then you must be pretty boring yourself.
I dont think you should have gotten pregnant in the first place. If you dont have wise judgement now I can only imagine how you will be when the baby is born.

Well how about this..if you don't really care about anyone's opinion on what you're going to do (which you know is wrong or you wouldn't be so defensive) and one drink is all you're going to have drink whatever the hell you want.
Big applause on giving up the pills...now if you could only care enough to give up the booze too.

Do this child a favor..give it up for adoption when it is born. Bad parenting is the reason for most the problems in this country. If your just worried about going out get a life! A child is more valuable. I already pity it and I am sure my tax money will go to your welfare.

I'm sorry, but I think the "study" saying caffeine causes miscarriages is complete crap. No one knows what causes most miscarriages, and so you can't arbitrarily blame it on one dietary thing and not on another. The caffeine thing is something each woman needs to choose for herself. My mom drank Pepsi throughout each of her pregnancies, and we're all fine and have no abnormalities. My son was born completely healthy, and I drank caffeine during pregnancy, as well. The key is moderation. Caffeine, like anything else, is ok in moderation.

Well if you absolutely have to...always remember the little one..so be mild...your baby can't decide for itself. I think a couple of beers may be fine...but make sure you have had a good meal before hand. If you are not into beer....try a juice drink...or something with a little bit of nutrients. But Remember...only a couple...on a full stomach.
