We are a southern state!!! everytime someone from the south come here they say we are not. what do you think

Well, I wont argue the fact that you were a slave state (most Northern states were), but you were not part of the Southern states.

I don't think of Maryland as a southern state. I'm from Texas and sometimes we're not considered southern either. We're Southwestern.......like there's that big of a difference.

because maryland is not in the south, they didnt even secede during the civil war

to me it's not. Was it a free or slave state. if it were free, that may explain it.
