Except for the phone bill (listing calls you've made and may later lose or forget some of the numbers), most utility bills are useless once the next one comes providing they applied your payment correctly.
An exception is if you have a business and you are claiming the expenses on your tax return. In that case you need them for 3 years after you file your return.
Another exception is if you are considering switching to another utility provider and need to compare rates to see if new company is cheaper.

Depends on where you live . . . and whether you have indoor plumbing, electricity, etc. in your house. LOL. Seriously, if you live in a city or town, you probably have at least an electric bill, a water and sewer bill and 1 to 3 phone bills, depending on how you have your land line, long distance and cell phone divided up. Most urban areas tend toward gas heat, etc. so you may also have a gas bill. If you live in a rural area, you probably have a well and septic tank, so strike the water and sewer bill. Why?
