i need to format my C drive; can't do it from the ms-dos command prompt in windows; ms dos mode is not listed in the startup options - only windows modes are listed (safe, debugging etc)

As the computer is starting up, hold down the F8 key until you arrive at a black and white screen, with options such as "Start windows normally", "start in safe mode", and "start in msdos mode". Select the msdos mode by scrollin over to it using the arrow keys, and pressing enter.

depends on the operating system. Windows 98 was the last operating system to be able to boot in dos mode. Most pc's can no longer boot to DOS

as soon as computer starts hit F8.
a menu will appear select MS dos mode.

Tap the F8 key while your computer is booting up, if you timed it right you will get to the boot up screen. There will be a list of how you would like to boot up. You can boot to DOS from there.

You need start up floppy. if do not have one make one. just put a floppy in the drive and format the floppy with system files option after format is done keep it in the drive re start your computer it will start in dos like this

restart the computer and while it is restarting you have to tap on one of the keys I can not remember start with the f1 key if it does not work do f2 and so on one of them will start it up in dos mode you can also call labtec and they can tell you for sure how to do it.
