i heard that there are some states that allow minors to get married at like 14 without parents permission..is this true? i heard it was like iowa and arkansas and other states that did this.....

Well the only state that I know for sure of that allows children under 18 to marry is Georgia....17 to be exact. But they also allow a 15 year old to marry if they are pregnant without parent's permission. Marriage before 18 is the pits though.

In Iowa the law says that if u are 16 and with parents consent(permission) u can get married. I live in Iowa so I should know. As for other states I don't know.

Only one state in the country that allows anyone to get married under the age of 18 without parents consent or court order and that is Georgia where the legal age for marriage is 17.

I dont believe you can get married until you are 16, and then you have to have a parentals consent. Maybe if you are pregnant you could get married, but again not sure....
But why in the world would a 14 year old want marriage? That's like 8th grade right?

The guy's comment above was right, BUT back in the day....don't know what time exactly, it was quite alright to get married to ...hell a 13 year old without parent's permission...quite sick, but it's true. IN FACT...i believe now there are little underground things where you can 'buy' a wife at those ages, and until they are of age to be married THEN they get married to them. STILL quite sick.....but that's what this world is coming to...go figure. Oh and let's not even TALK about foreign countries....especially in Africa hot damn!

Yes! for instance take Romania! In Romania there are 23.000.000 people. About 2.000.000 are Gypsy`s! The state alow them to get married at 14 with the parents agreement!

i'm sure you could find it on the internet somewhere.
i imagine it's one of those old laws that was never taken off the books during an era where not many people lived past 40.
but it IS a nice loophole for kids who want to do something REALLY stupid and rash.

I don't know and if they do they need to ban that law. Get married at that age is way to young. This is just the beginning of puberty.
