Yes it can. But it is not common for it to do so. I would take a home pregnancy test to. Or see your doctor so that you will know for sure. All though Ovulation test and Pregnancy test are used to detect 2 different hormones. An ovulation test can show a false reading if you are pregnant. Science is not perfect. And when dealing with hormones home test kits can be off, by as much as 5 to 10 % depending on the individual. Home ovulation test kits are usually right about 92 % of the time. But Home pregnancy test are usually right about 95% of the time with in 5 days of your missed period. That is why I suggest you see your doctor. He/She can do a blood test that is accurate with in 24 hours of pregnancy. No answers on this web site or any can compensate for your doctors opinion. It is also very rare for a ovulation test to show positive for weeks. As I am sur you know most women only have a 3 day or 72 hour, window for ovulation per month. Please see your doctor so that you can be certain.

I don't think pregnancy would have an effect on an ovulation test it is used to detect a totaly diffrent hormone than that in a pregnancy test. It is used to detect the Lutenizing Hormone(LH) that is released in your body for ovulation to occur a Pregnancy test detects Human Chorinonic Gonadatropin(HcG) which is realesed by the egg implanting into the uterus until the the placenta is completly formed. I suggest taking a pregnancy test but you would have to wait until the first day you miss your period to avoid getting a false negative.

Good Luck and Best Wishes
