Someone(I don't want to say who) is stalking us.
They watch everytime we go in and out of the house. There was a time when a family member went out to the car and the neighbor jumped back from the window when they saw we noticed them staring.
We put something to cover our property to get them to stop.
Now they're threatning to come over here onto our property, take it down, and maybe destroy it.
If we file for restraining order, do you think it'd be issued?
This person has harassed and stalked just about everyone on this block, we're the first to do something about it.
Maybe if we get the others to help us and sign something?
Right now we're working with the manager to get this order processed. He's also working on evicting them.
This person has really bad anger management problems, we're afraid she'll come at us.

Anyway. Will this be easy to win or do we need more?

We've contact the police. He said we might very likely have a case and a chance to win it.
We just need to get a few things documented before we go for it.

Just wondering if anyone else has done this, gone through it, or have experience with it at all.
Thatd be great to hear from others about what they did. :)

Sounds like a nosy neighbour.....

Go to your local police station and ask them what can be done.

Don't know if this is something you have done, but I would think your first step is to get everyone who feels that they are being harrassed by this person to file police reports if possible. Not just one of you but everyone who feels the same way. If you do this I think the police will take this more seriously and a judge will be more likely to issue a restraining order. Having several of you complain to the police and even the apartment complex I think will go a long way. Also check with your state and city's laws about stalking in your area. They are different in differenet states. Hope this helps.

I have went throught this process with an ex fiance. You can file and Emergency Restraining Order immedidately, if you feel immediate danger. Althought, it is only temporary. Usually done while your are filing and processing the permenate restraining order papers. Now, in order to get this permenate restraining order to stick, you must have proof. Since you are prosecuting, you will have the "burden of proof". This means, just having witness sign general documents or statements is not enough. You may need to video tape or audio tape incidents when they happen so that you can prove without a doubt why this person is a threat. Remember the Judge needs to be sure this person is a threat and it up to you to prove it. Just my two cents. Good Luck

The best way to deal with stalkers is outlined in the following websites. Many counties won't issue a TRO until damage has already been done. If these people are really stalking you...take it very seriously, your life could depend on it.

From what I've heard, they give out restraining orders pretty easily. Her threats will be the strongest evidence. You should always go to the police if you feel threatened.

See how the managers efforts pan out.
I assume the manager is going to get statement from the other people on the block?
Check with manager.
