Always but I work in a Primary school and the children's manners in my school are appalling.
Even the pupils in Year 6 have to be constantly reminded to say please and thank you.
Manners should be taught at home as soon as a child is old enough to speak and understand what they mean.
Mind you many adults have no manners either, how many times have you ever held open a door for someone without receiving a word of thanks?

Unfortunately there are people who think common courtesies like this are a lost cause. I believe completely the opposite. I think it is so very important to use this simple niceties. It is one of the simplest and sincerest ways to show people that caring is still in style...it is very necessary in our society to continue with needed caring statements. I hope we dont ever lose that.

Yes I do and I have been told I also say excuse me and sorry even if I did nothing wrong. My mom gets on me about that alot when someone runs into me in the mall for example I will so oh excuse me or sorry. hmm sorry about that lol

Yes definately and what I've noticed is when someone actually says please or thank you to me I am surprised because it is unfortunately said so seldomly. I reckon we should have a National Manners Day for please and thank you appreciation and to remind the nation that manners, as cliched as it sounds, do cost nothing so why not use them!
