In the early hours of the morning a revolution towards Y/A took place.
over 200 people spoke thier mind against having thier Q&As removed for no valid reason and being violated for ridiculous purposes.
many people risked thier accounts to speak out and at least one lost thier account.
The Q has been deleted but not before someone posted it on the forum.
what was posted in the forum now also seems to be deleted.
Y/A doesn't seem to realise the magnitude of these unfair violation concerns.
They choose to ignore the problem and try to quietly squelch the voice of its users.
If you believe you have been treated unfairly by getting a violation notice(that never responds to a reply)
please show your support and and make your voice heard by answering and linking this Q to other Qs.
thanks.

Edit:
that is the point answergirl..people have been violated without being obsene or rude...just because of a difference of opinon.

I am a level 6 user..I don't want my important emails to be taken away by getting my main name deleted.

I'm dissapointed.
It seems that during the day people aren't as passionate about being treated unfairly.
I understand that this is Y/As site and you have to follow the rules...The point here is that honest people who are not perverted, profane and obscene are being targeted by trolls who report them because they disagree with an opinion....and they get a violation notice without breaking the rules.
call me stupid now but someday this will happen to you and you will wish you would have tried to make a difference when you could have....
Thanks.

I have found the thread in the forum....
unfortunately it does not describe the scope of what happened...

I've never had a problem with Y!A. I behave myself.

Besides, it's free, and it's not your site - it belongs to Yahoo! and as such they have every right to do whatever they want.

I agree that a difference of opinion should not be the criteria for deletion but it _is_ Yahoo's site and we all _did_ sign the agreement to join.
As a sysop I was rather heavy-handed at times when one of my members chose to use abusive or foul language so I do understand the 'censorship' aspect of deletions.
I have also been given to understand that some of the deletions are automatic and that user complaints can trigger the system.

If that is the fact, then Yahoo programmers should review their code.

I am not able to get any input from Yahoo!. The only response I've ever received is a form letter stating that I can email the customer care for more information. However, their response to that email is another form encouraging me to email customer care for more information.

I've had several answers removed for incredibly flimsy reasons. I get a form response when I protest. Never anything else.
This is the 1st I've heard of the protest.

This morning they had a discussion of this on the YA blog, it asked for suggestions of how to get rid of the 'trolls' who are doing the false reporting, just so you know.

I didn't know this......but....I don't think its going to matter......This is just a question and answer forum..its for entertainment. Why get so worked up over it?

I just noticed, that everyone who has made sense with their answer has a "thumbs down"......I guess you don't like these responses. Grow Up !!!! Or at least lighten up.

and...you just joined yesterday ?????

There is nothing you say or do that gives you a right to use this forum. This is not open to you or others to give obscene, profane, or defaming remarks. You abuse a privilege; you lose that privilege. Look up the difference between the words right and privilege.
