I watch my best friends kids, she has 9 yr. old and 6yr. old and a 2 month old. I only pick the two older ones up from school and bring them home for a few hours and her ex-husband pays for that. I have been babysitting for her since her 6 yr. old was a baby. Anyway I have been watching her baby for 4 weeks now along with another one that I watch, and she still has not payed me. I know she is going through a rough time, she just got evicted and moved in with her mom, but I also know she has been going out and it's not free to go out, so she must have some money. I 'm not sure how to approach this, she is my best friend but I need the money to pay my bills also. Any ideas on how to approach this situation????

That sounds like a tough situation. Have you tried asking her about it? She might not know that she needs to pay if there were no agreement. Remind her about it, and if she choose to ignore it then you can take some action. I think it's stupid of her anyway, you don't neglect payment on someone that's gonna look at your kids. That's just asking for trouble.

well the key to happiness and financial sucess is to do more than what you get payed for.

Also on the other hand people should pay for services they need.

Sounds like a rock and a hard place

it also sounds like you are a good friend and you should let her know that she needs to pay you something on a regular basis to show she appreicates your time and help that you give her

IF I WERE YOU???? I WOULD GO UP TO HER AND POLITELY ASK FOR MY MONEY? sHE'S YOUR BEST FRIEND FOR OVER 6YR. SO SHE'S GOTTA UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU'RE COMING FROM WHEN YOU SAY YOU GOTTA PAY YOUR BILLS TOO? RIGHT? AND IF SHE DOESN'T THEN OBVIOUSLY SHE NEEDS TOO FIND A NEW BAYBSITTER, AND THEN YA'LL COULD GO OUT TOGETHER9UNLESS SHE WANTS TOO GET ALL ROWDIE) THEN YOU MIGHT HAVE TOO CHECK HER?

Be honest with your friend and tell her that you need the money. If she really is your friend she will give you some of the money she owes you, if she dosen't then she's not your friend.

Ask her to pony up. If she doesn't, tell her that's the end of babysitting her kids......friends are friends, usually, until it comes to money !!

Friendship be damned...if she owes you for work then tell her to pay or you will have to take other actions.
