story for a book? I'm usually quite creative, but can come up with nothing remotely interesting. I want it to be about a mom, her kids, and issues... what issues though? with who? things like that? I was thinking something like "mom has 2 kids, meets guy, they fall in love, and all that, but that just stinks. Mom does drugs, loses something really important... mom gets married, but kids hate new dad? ****. this could go on forever. HELP PLEASE. I need a synopsis for a book report... The most interesting plot gets 5 extra credits. This is HUGE.
(Oh, please lsets go for realistic too, ok? thank you)

Try to come up with a main character for your story. Write down a description - male, female, eye color, etc. etc.

Then take this character and imagine then in some odd place or scenario – anything goes! Write down ideas on what would have to happen to your character or how they would react to the scenario you placed them in.

You can do this for multiple characters if you like.

This may seem futile, but it will help you flesh out some characters and give you insight into what you may want to happen to this type of character in a potential story. You may even come up with multiple story lines!

Strong well crafted main characters can inspire readers to love your story as well as motivate you to write a great story for these imagined beings so be in! :-)

Before you can write an interesting story, you must write a believable synopsis. There have been too many stories that are boring about family life. Forget about everything you have read and come up with something original. I know that there are only a few plots for every story ever written, but that does not mean that you cannot enlarge upon life instead of being led by it.
Don't have your characters doing dumb things like so many stories do, just to make a plot.
Go into the future or the past and stay away from the present if you want to make your story interesting. Good Luck.
Jaread. I only had a short time to write this because I have a long trip back home. Your planet is just a little too wild for me.

You could wrestle with a thousand stories but let me give you a piece of advice that might help.

If the mom is the chief protagonist in your novel, then completely own that person. Write a page about how she is. What is she afraid of? What does she dream of? Who is her ex husband? is he dead? divorced? did he abandon them?

As you start to fill out the character, you'll start finding out stuff about her. Listen for that. That is your story.

Good luck.

How about... A single and formerly anorexic woman has to deal with the fact that her daughter may have the same problem, and that it is caused partly by the pressure she puts on her to succeed in everything she does.

what about mom and two kids in the lowest of low times and talk about how they beat the odds to come up in life and survive a wild city or some kind of hardships.
