In Chicago?
Walk around the south side with your wallet in your hands and a nice big rolex. Look wimpy.

Take up geocaching. Although you'll need to spring for the initial expense of a GPS unit, the rest is pretty much free. It's searching for treasure and puzzles at specific latitude and longitude locations. A lot of times, you'll be searching on terrain that's a little off the beaten path, so in that respect it's sort of like an adventure sport. Follow the link for more info.

If you're talking about whitewater rafting, rock climbing, bungee jumping, etc., you're in the wrong city, pal. Chicago doesn't have a lot of "adventure sports". You could go running along the lakeshore on the running/bike path, I guess. Just bundle up and hope the waves don't lap up and cover you. You'll be an ice sculpture in seconds. November in Chicago is cold.

Hey Brian, I live on the South Side. Can't knock it till you try it. I was born and raised on the south side and I've never seen anyone get jumped. There are a couple of bad schools, but that doesn't account for the majority of the South Side, and definitely not the majority of Chicago. Compared to other large cities, Chicago is very safe.

some adventure sports. hm..you can go to ESPN zone, go play whirley ball, you can go paintballing, go to gameworks, there is also dave and busters, but other than that there's really not much else you can do adventure sports unless i have no idea what you're talking about. heehee. just check out metromix.com and you can find restaurants and all that other stuff. but i say go to ESPN zone cause you can eat and drink there and watch sports and play games. have fun!!

It's very cold in chicago around thanksgiving so you shouldnt be planning on too much outdoors activites. If I'm not mistaken, there is still ice skating downtown on michigan ave.
