The Czech people gained their independence after a series of protests and strikes led by Vaclev Havel, it was achieved peacefully and thus dubbed "The Velvet Revolution". Nicolai CeauÅescu was the dictator of Romania, who was executed in 1989.

The Czech people did when the shot Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife on national TV on Christmas. That was awesome.
