If it was not consensual then of course it would be rape. I just checked the Internet and it looked like the age of consent in Ohio is 18 so it is possible that it is statuatory rape and child abuse. 28 year olds should not be "dating" anyone under the age of 18.

I dont really know the laws in ohio, but the authorities see it this way... If the father steps up and takes care of you and your child, everything is fine. I was 17 when i got pregnant with my first kid, the father was 22. All is well now and havent had any problems from social services or any other authority, they think it is better to support a family that has the father playing a key role in raising his child. Most fathers run off, so why mess with a good thing. And usually in all states if you have a relationship that is sexual, the authorities dont really care unless the "child" is under 16 years of age, or there are mental disabilities.

Good luck with everything.

You have to look at the statutory rape age for your state. Some states say that 16 is old enough and some are 17 (and some are 18?). If your state says that 17 is old enough to not count as statutory rape then its fine.

Now if you're talking about rape and not just statutory rape then no its not rape since its consensual intercourse.

If sex was forced, yes it is rape of course. But in Ohio if you are under 17 years old it would be considered rape. Since she is 17 it is not considered satritory rape, unless her parents were serious about taking this man to court it could happen.

It depends on what the age of consent is in Ohio, which in most states is 16, but if it was 18 and Ohio it would be statutory rape because under the law she is not old enough to give consent, no matter if the sex was consensual.

If you are under 18 it is considered rape whether you consented to it or not. Will charges be filed? That question can only be answered by your parents and how they feel about you having sex with a 28 year old.

If the girl consented and acknowledges what she was doing with the male, which is sex with an older male; then I would not find fault with the man at all for she new full well what she was doing when they both had sex. When two people become one during sexual intercourse, there is a chance of becoming pregnant. Had the girl told the man, that she did not wish to have sexual intercourse with him, and he did so anyway, then I can view that as rape....but if two have consented and agreed to have sex with eachother, than there is no crime and both parties are now responsible for the child that shall be birthed due to their irresponsible decisions.

It depends on the laws in the state of Ohio and what the age of concent is. In most states the age is 15 or 16. But then it also depends on your parents they could file some kind of charges against him.

Oh, these poor people are mistaken. The legal dating age to have consensual sex in the U.S. is 16. Meaning, at the age of 16, anyone can have a sexual relationship with anyone of any age (outside of school related areas) and it can not be prosecuted. My best friend is pregnant, she is 17 and her boyfriend is 23. No charges have been filed because she is of LEGAL DATING AGE. If that was the case, people would be so engulfed 15 and 16 year olds having sex, nothing else would be taken care of.
