0.06x + 0.05y= -0.7

0.08x +0.7y = 37.4
0.06x + 0.05y = -0.7
Multiply first equation by 600 and second equation by -0.800:
48x +420y = 22,440
-48x -.40y = 560 {Equation I}
380y=23000
y= 60 10/19
Substitute y = 60 10/19 into Equation I to find x.
The equations are independent.
