You need to figure out how much of the job a man does in a day.

3 men take 2 days to finish a job. So 1 man would take 6 days. Stated another way, a man finishes 1/6 of the job each day.

If you have 2 men, then they would finish 2 * 1/6 = 1/3 of the job in a day.

The answer is 1/3 of the box.

3 men will take 2 days
--> 3 men = 2 days

1 man will take 3 times as long
--> 1 man = 2 x 3 days = 6 days

2 men will take half the time as 1 man
--> 2 men = 6 / 2 days = 3 days

2 men will take 3 days to paint the box. Therefore, considering they do the work at an even pace, after one day they would have completed one third (1/3) of the box.

a third would be a reasonable answer.

3 men for two days = 6 man days.
2 men for one days = 2 man days.

6 mandays = 1 complete box
2 mandays = 1/3 of a box

3 men * 2 days = six panels
3 * 2 = 6
6 = 6
1 man = 1 panel

(2 men/panels * 1 day) * X = six panels
2 panels * X = six panels

the answer is 1/3; do you see how I found it?

3men, 2days= a job
3 men, 1 day = half a job….
2 men, 1 day = 2 quarters(2/3) of a job of the half of a day
so overall, it would be...0.3333% or else 1/3
