Perhaps it is because it is like a shackle thatholds them back from reaching higher and flying unfettered, achieving in life.
I can't believe that no black boy ever dreamed of being the president, but they are all white caucasian maried males, term after term. And it perhaps hurts considering that imbeciles like ( ehm. lets not get political!) are elected while better candidates perhaps languish in the dark?.

I know a guy who does not like to admit that his great grand parents were Mexican and says he did not ask to be born with that blood because as a child his Mother was married to a Mexican and he used to beat him so he now holds resentment towards all Mexicans not Mexican / Americans mind you just i was born in Mexico Mexicans. So i think everyone has different reasons.

maybe they're ashamed of their culture perhaps because of what it's become, or they don't have enough pride to love who they are in their ethnicity because of the stereotypical views of others.
