I think it all boils down to the majority being able to identify with what they are watching. If black people feel strongly about watching predominantly black characters, then it has to be the same with whites. They just prefer to watch someone that they understand and identify with. I wish we could all just look inside of each other but that's not what happens.

I don't think that's true. There are a lot of them in leading roles. What I don't see are Asians, Native Americans, Indians, etc. That would be a bigger diversity b/c every movie, sitcom, tv show period has a million whites and at least one black person, but never any of the other races.

Watch the movie "Crash". On of the points it makes is when the White producer tells the Black director that their Black star doesn't talk "Black enough" and asks has he been taking language lessons. This seems to exemplify the attitude of Hollywood toward Blacks - if we exhibit our intelligence, we aren't readily acceptable. And that also anaswers Sunshine's question about why I liked the Cosby Show. Black people had intelligence, manners and knew how to act in public.

Our specialists describe you as an appallingly uninteresting fellow, unimaginative, timid, lacking in initiative, spineless, actual ruled, no experience of humour, tedious company and irrepressibly drab and undesirable. And while in maximum professions those could be substantial drawbacks, in chartered accountancy they seem to be a useful boon.
