They probably had their own accents by then. The american colonies were established over 100 years before the revolution. That's certainly enough time to develop a strong local culture, including accents and way of speaking.

Some had American accents while others had British accents. I do know people in Philadelphia already were speaking with the Philadelphia accent.

Some of the Americans would have British Accents or mild accents.
While others just had their own.

The British accent as we know it is a rather recent development; made widespead in the BBC age.

Today's closest remnants of the accents of the day are found in Kentucky and Newfoundland.
