I've had a new computer built, it's got 2 new hard drives in Raid 1, from which it boots up from. I've also had the hard drive from my old computer installed. How can I run programmes that are installed on this hard drive from my old computer? I've tried moving the programme file to the new hard drive, but that doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions? Hopefully you won't tell me to alter the drives so it boots up from the old one!

I have the same on my pc

My old drive is E so I go in through:

start, my computer, E drive, my documents and work from there direct.

If the operating system is not the same a lot of add ons will not work eg the three games the children played will not work any more.

Good luck

I would reinstall the various programs. Theres more to each program than just the actual program in the program files folder. They often have seperate files dotted around the system, such as in the windows directory etc.

Just transferring the folder over wont normally work, and most of the programs will either crash or refuse to run
