I think the question is more or less moot for me, as the issue isn't so much the price as it is availability (there will only be 400,000 available at launch, 1 million total by the end of the year). I'm not going to fight people in lines or make any huge effort to get in a pre-order, and I'm certainly not going to pay above MSRP on eBay. So I'm perfectly willing to pay $500 for one...it's just that I know I won't be able to get my hands on one until next spring.

I'd love to get the Wii, because it seems to be a great "party console." But it looks like everyone is jumping on that bandwagon and making it scarce as well, even though it's going to launch in greater supply than the PS3.

The best choice to make is to wait until the price drops down. Because of the added hard drive and such, it will be very, very expensive!
