Absolutely

I am an expert on this subject because I was raised in a southern republican family where the only word referring to a black person started with an 'n'.

Thank God I educated myself and got rid of my ignorance.

The Republican party uses hate and prejudices to motivate voters. I am not making this up.. those words have come right out of Rove's mouth.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/architect/view/

He has been doing this to win elections since the 70s.

Another way to see proof of this is to ask yourself simple questions like how many whites and blacks are on welfare... there are actually more whites on welfare than blacks. BUT, what does the republican party think and tell you about this and WHY. They have successfully used race to paint a black female with 3 kids welfare face on the democratic party. Why? = to motivate your prejudices.

Another example is gay marriage. Watch that link I gave above. Rove is quoted as stating his #1hate issue to motivate votes is gay marriage.

I can't tell you anymore. You will have to watch and learn.

The sad fact of the matter is that using hate to win elections might win the battles but loses the war for America... dividing us all.

Of course not. And come on BeachBum, just because your neighborhood was full of racists (admittedly more in the South), you can't make a generalization like that.

Show me one thing that is racist about the Republican agenda...nothing. For the most part Republicans want equality for all, but not at the expense of removing individual responsibility. I'm not a Republican, but I am certain they don't push a racist agenda. I've been Democrat my entire life, and would argue, not proudly, that it is the Democratic party that pushes/enforces racism in society.

Democrats are constantly making people out to be victims and over looking personal responsibility. They run on the fact that Blacks are still burdend by slavery, that Mexicans should be allowed to stay here illegally because they have had tough lives, that Gay individuals are hated by conservatives just because they may not agree with their lifestyle. I'm a little tired of it.

I don't think either party has a racist agenda, but it could be more easily placed on the left side. They have been taking for granted the Black vote for years. I think we need to look beyond race, everyone, we need to encourage respect, humility and responsibility at the lowest level (the individual). There are real important issues we need to be looking at, lets do that.

turboweegie stated it perfectly.

Democrats are the racists since they feel minorities need lower college admissions and employment standards.

Well, all minorities except Asians. They have to have higher college admissions and employment standards than even whites, since they are an overrepresented minority!

What a farces!

Edit:

BeachBum, I respect your argument; but I have to disagree with your view point.

I am sorry that you grew up surround by ignorance that is unfortunate for you. But I would not take your anecdotal experience and extrapolate it to all Southern Republicans. That would violate the first rule of forming a logical argument. You can argue from the general to the specific, but you cannot argue from the specific to the general.

That would be like saying: All Asians who enter store X steal items; therefore, all Asians steal things from stores. Even if the first clause where somehow true for a particular case (though, I cannot imagine when this could ever happen) you would have to prove this statement for all stores everywhere before the second clause could be considered true.

Of all of the media outlets by far the most left leaning are NPR and PBS. I would not believe anything published or produced by either NPR or PBS to be anything but leftist political spin.

I have to disagree with your statement about welfare as well. Even if your statement that the Republican party is painting the face of welfare to be a single black mother of three were true, which I do not believe. Your statement that more white people are on welfare than black people is a specious one.

This statement is completely wrong when you look at just raw numbers. Of course, there are more white people on welfare than black people. There are nearly seven times as many white people in the US than black people. Without taking percentages into consideration your statement is invalid.

Now if there are, indeed, seven times as many white people on welfare as blacks then your statement can be considered correct. However, if the numbers are closer to twice or three times the number of whites to blacks then your statement is invalid. Since that means statically speaking, a black person is more likely to be on welfare than a white person.

Again, I do not have the number to prove or disprove your argument. I am only saying your statement is inaccurate.

My only point is to get people to think for themselves. Do not just spout number and assertions made by the media and politicians without confirming their validity first.

i'm sorry, possibly i'm out of it, yet did you're saying that democrats "upward push up for minorities"? i comprehend that democrats pander to minorities to get votes, yet even as did democrats commence status for something? precisely what have republicans achieved to cause them to such racists? precisely what have democrats achieved for minorities to cause them to non-racist? Oh, democrats voted for Obama so one can't in all likelihood be racist...is that it? i'm sorry to allow you to comprehend, in spite of the indisputable fact that that is in basic terms as racist to vote for someone in accordance to pores and skin colour because it really is to vote adverse to someone because of pores and skin colour...BTW you're conscious that Senator Robert Byrd a democrat from West Virginia became once a Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan? Now it really is what I call killing 2 birds with one stone...racists are in basic terms from the south...incorrect, West Virginia is a northern state and easily republicans might want to be racist. Absolutely. We think blacks, women and all other minorities are capable of competing equally with everybody else. We think that having double standards and set-asides is what you do when you consider other people to be inferior and unable to compete equally. We believe underprivileged children should have the opportunity to get out of failing schools. For these reasons, the left call us 'racist'.

Is there a communist agenda behind the Democratic party? Hmmm??

Yes - the human race.

They're more interested in keeping more of these humans alive - saving them from terrorists, and the abortionist.

How's that for an answer? :)
