They should be there to show support. Nice job on driving them to an early grave by being a screwup tho. Hope you are happy that your poor mother cries herself to sleep and dad has had about 10 years shaved off his life.

If you were a young offender (i.e. under 18) then the Court would expect your parents to be with you. Now you are before the adult court and as far as the court is concerned, you are on your own. If you were my son, I'd want to be there, as I'd need to know just what was happening to you. How do your parents feel? If they want to come, don't stop them. They're going to be upset anyway if you go down.
Your lawyer will be making what's called a plea in mitigation on your behalf before you are sentenced. If your parents were in court, he/she would no doubt point this out to the judge just to show that you have family support. It can help occasionally, just a bit, as it shows that if you were to be given a community sentence instead of a term of imprisonment, there would be members of your family about to encourage you. But otherwise, whether or not your parents are there won't make any difference.
Try to be positive while serving your sentence and use any opportunities which might come your way to sort your life out so that you don't have to hurt your parents again. Or see the inside of a prison again.

It makes no difference whatsoever on your sentence if your parents are there or not. The Courts look at the seriousness of your crime, any aggravating or mitigating factors, your attitude towards the offence and your risk of harm to the public. If you had a pre-sentence report then they will take that into serious consideration and nearly always follow the recommendation of that report unless they feel that you have "duped" the probation officer writing it. If youare having a pre-sentence report done the best thing it to be completely honest. Don't try to lie, the Probation office will almost deffinately see through it as they are trained to.

Your parents have probably been through so much with you since you were a teenager, am I correct? They have tried their best to make you see right from wrong, but yet you defy them, and do as you please, now doing as you please has gotten you a year and half in prison and maybe more, they love you or they wouldn't keep putting up with the trouble you are in. You are a man according to law at 19, so why don't you act like a man and change before you either get killed or end up in prison for life. Yes, they should be there to support you even though you don't want them there, you have to realize that they are your parents and no matter what you have done they will stand by you. Yes, it will tear their hearts out and cause them so much pain, having a son or daughter in prison is the worst, knowing that their friends and families are talking behind their backs about you, don't you see what you are doing or don't you just care?

Your parents will no doubt want to be there with you. However I just hope that the looks you see on their faces when you are sentenced will be enough to deter you from committing any further crimes upon your release. It is not worth it is it . One thing that you have proved though by sending in this message is that you love and have respect for your parents. Dont get involved in any more crime, there is a big wide world out there that you can enjoy. Get yourself on a course and achieve something positive for yourself and your parents. You can turn your life around if you want to.,or you could end up being institutionalised and you dont want that do you.

Depend on who you want the difference to be made on.
The judge will have already read everything and almost made his decision so your parents being there or not will make no difference to him at this late stage I am afraid.
You say you do not really want them there which is fair enough but I feel you should be a good lad and actually consider their feelings by asking them if they want to be there. Tell them that you feel it best not and WHY because they as parents will see that you have thought about them and only them before yourself.
I myself personnaly think you need your parents there for you and some support and also because me being a mom I would want to be there for my son no matter what he had done.

Well, excuse me for saying, that you are taking a selfish view. I doubt it will help you in terms of whatever sentence you may recieve. Yes, it will be upsetting, but your parents may feel a need to be there, not least so they hear for themselves what the sentence is. By attending they are also demonstrating to you that they care enough about you to put themselves through the anquish.

Since you are in the sentencing phase of your trial, it probably won't make a difference. The judge will have made his decision prior to arriving in the court and there is little that would sway him to change that. They may have helped by being there during other portions of your trial. Now, it is up to you to use the time you receive to make yourself into a better person. Maybe you can help them get over their horrible sense of failure and sadness that they are drowning in because of your choices. It isn't too late to get your life in order and make them happy and proud of you.
