I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra. It usually happens when i'm on the freeway. It also happens when I just let off the gas.

When you hit the brakes and it vibrates, there is a good chance that you have bad brakes pads and/or rotors. When you let off of the gas and it happens it probly means that your wheels are off balance. It could possibly be an alignment issue as well. You should take it to a shop that specializes in tires and brakes to have those things looked at.

Sounds like a mix of warped rotors and tiers that are out of alignment or balance. Take to a tire shop that can do all of this work and have your car fixed.

Breaks will not be cheep because you probaby need new rotors. Probably in the neighborhood of about 400.00 to 600.00 depending on the cost of the rotors and the shops markup.
Alignment and balancing is not bad and probably under 100.00.

Best of Luck

Your tortion bushings are shot... When u hit the brake the force that is put on the front wheel driven axle is causing the stearing to shimmy due to the warn bushings and or worn cv boots... They need to be replaced!

it is funny you ask that, replace your brakes, and make sure your wheel disk's are filed down.I just recently went through the same thing. As soon as I would hit the brakes at a high rate of speed they would shake like crazy.Take it to some local mechanic b/c the dealer will kill you in the pocket.I paid 200.00 for brakes and disk job.

Warped rotors, warped brake pads, or really bad wheel alignment. You need to take it to a brake place first.

You may want to have that looked at. There are several possible malfunctions that could cause this, and none of them will go away by themselves. It could be your tires, your axles or cv joints, or your brakes.
