No you don't look funny. Fathers supporting daughters don't look funny.

As a dance teacher, I have seen lots of parents too afraid to do what you are doing, and many willing to dance right along with us! If that is what it takes for her to "warm up" to class, keep on doing it! Eventually, when she is ready to run right in and jump into class alone, you'll be grateful you had the chance to share that with her! Children are only young once and you can't get back that time once it is gone...enjoy EVERY sweet moment of it!!

Sure, that's normal, don't worry about looking funny. There are also tons of "Mommy and Me" or "Daddy and Me" and I have even seen "Grandpa and Me". It's great for your kids to have the support and to be able to spend time with you like that. Good for you, what a good dad.

How cute....don't worry about looking "funny". In fact sign up for and adult ballet class. I'm 56 and I love it - it is a workout you won't believe.

I personally did ballet and hated it, so i did ice skating that is so fun and later in life you can show off to your friends and my mom ice skated with me and i really loved it when she did that, so i would say yes someday when my kids want me to do something with them i'll do it, you only get to live once, and you don't want to regret not doing something.

Daddy/Daughter Disco.
She was 5. I was 31. I have cinderblocks for feet and no rhythm to speak of, but she's eleven now, and still talks about it.

if i had children i would absolutely do anything for them. so what you may look foolish to a couple of ppl in her class as you're dancing and twirling but that many more will be impressed that you care so much for your little girl...not that you're doing to impress others. good for you, you're a very special dad.
