Just be sure to avoid Alcoholics Anonymous and he should be just fine. AA would make matters worse.
You don't need a bartenders guide just be creative and invent your own concoctions.

You need to let your friend want to stop first then you help him because if you just tell him he need to stop drinking he could get stress and may think about killing himself.

quit making excuses for them...... be a true friend and walk away if they refuse help....or can't admit it. you will become a door mat if you stay around them and your disappointment and disrespect will grow very quickly.
