Move around a lot. Do housekeeping etc. Exercise. Eat some good soup like chicken with pepper in it like cayenne. Wear sweats and a good robe and well insulated slippers. Put cayenne in your socks to keep your feet warm. Where cheap gloves with the holes cut out of the end and a good comfy hat. Even a baseball cap is better than nothing. When the cold gets unbearable take a hot shower or better yet a hot bath. You can sit in the bath and eat your chicken soup and read and shave and whatever. When your done leave the leave water in tub. The heat will still radiate and the water will evaporate into the air and make it warmer. An evaporater is good for this purpose. Put plastic over the windows, cover cooler, on the inside too. Check and patch door leaks. Do this ASAP that like September October. That way you won't get so sick of the cold around January that you will be cranking the heat all the time. (psychological) When it's windy put your hand up around the house and check for cold air coming through. If it is patch it. You might be amazed at how much heat your losing. Cook bread. A stove heats just as well as the heater. Let the sunshine in. It's amazing how much heat the sun can generate. Get a big piece of aluminum foil to reflect it into your window. (Go to a more progressive country than the US where Solar and Wind Power and green houses are actually encouraged. We can save an extinct animal or a 3rd world country we just can't save ourselves.) Anytime you have excess heat in one room use a fan on low speed to help circulate warm air to other rooms. A house that's warm stays warm a house that's cold stays cold. For Get a 0 degree sleeping bag and an electric blanking. Turn the blanket on about 15 minutes before going to bed and turn it off when you go to bed as it is supposed to cause cancer. The 0 degree bag will keep you warm all night and the body heat is wonderful you won't feel as many aches and pains in the morning. Magnesium and Potassium can help poor circulation. They say booze helps. I don't know. Always have good blanket handy when you are watching TV etc. Go outside for a minute. When you go inside you will realize how much warmer it is in your house and this will help your attitiude a bit. Get better insulation.
Get help from the government. Check out the H.E.A.T. program. They also help you with insulation and making your house more warm. Ask they guys at HEAT they should know where to go.

Hearty food and warm drinks, brisk walks that get the heart pumping and the blood flowing better, keeping the house cosy warm, drawing curtains as soon as it goes dark keeps the heat in, a winter duvet on your bed and for me my lovely hubby to cuddle up to every night.

Winter is when we're justified in upping our carb intake! Nice hot comfort food like, beef stew and dumplings, etc and a good, hot soup at lunchtime, with bread of course. Evenings has to include hot cocoa! Keep the inner man stoked-up, dress in 2 or 3 layers, instead of one and make sure that one of them is a natural fibre, like wool, or a thick cotton. Make sure you sleep warm, so you start the day feeling nice and warm and have a good bowl of porridge (quick and easy to make in the microwave) with honey to start your day. Have a good Winter!

Staying warm in the winter is affected by how you dress, meaning dress in layers that can be shed or added to depending on the weather. Also don't forget to stay hydrated and eat healthy, keep your metabolism up, staying away from nicotine will help too. I recommend Web MD to look that up by exposure to the elemnetsor something. my military training taught me all that i told and also wear clothes that wick moisture from the body as you sweat and it stays on your skin it will lower the temp of your skina and in turn your body.

Drinking something warm, drinking alcohol but that could make you feel a little too warm which could lead to a cold. A warm coat, a blanket, a fire, layers of clothing, thermal underwear.

As for coats, a warmth, outfitted peacoat might want to be lovable and functional. A be conscious to the sensible-- attempt to veer faraway from skirts as a lot as you are able to. you may want to besides carry round a neon signal saying, "Frostbite or bust!" a minimum of purchase some lovable leggings to pick it. chinese language Laundry has some quite effective, warmth leggings you are able to placed on. Oh! And berets are lovable in iciness, too. like the knit caps that folk placed on. And be particular to top off on some warmth and quite scarves.

Thermal vests and long johns and thermal insoles for your shoes/boots, when it's really cold I put a couple of potatoes in the microwave, then wrap them in silver foil and keep them in my pocket, when you're in the warm you can eat the jacket spuds!
