i think had one last saturday and it was so real and it creeps me out. i was cleaning my CD cabinet and i was holding a sarah brightman CD, then my brother aproached me, then i turned back and i saw him standing next to a stack of CDs behind me. my mom was sitting on an armchair. at a split second, i felt that that kind of situation happened to me before. everything was in the exact and precise position. i'm not exaggerating but i blacked out for several seconds as if i was having a head rush. this kind of thing happened several times before and they creep me out. is this a de javu or what? is de javu real? and what explanation can you give for it?

thanks a lot :)

Some believe that it is a glitch in the brain that makes you feel like you have experienced that moment before. But in reality you have not ever had the moment.

I too have experienced it more then once. So I asked a friend of my who is a psychologist and he gave the same answer as above.

From How Stuff Works:

"The phenomenon is rather complex, and there are many different theories as to why déjà vu happens. Swiss scholar Arthur Funkhouser suggests that there are several "déjà experiences" and asserts that in order to better study the phenomenon, the nuances between the experiences need to be noted. In the examples mentioned above, Funkhouser would describe the first incidence as déjà visité ("already visited") and the second as déjà vecu ("already experienced or lived through").

As much as 70 percent of the population reports having experienced some form of déjà vu. A higher number of incidents occurs in people 15 to 25 years old than in any other age group. "

As for me, yes, I have it constantly myself. In some cases, it is a reliving of a dream -- which I know to be a fact, since I record my dreams and am able to go back and check the information/detail! Other times it is just like you had -- "been there, done that" feeling. Me, I like it, for whatever reason it happens!

I've had Deja Vu before too. In fact, I have it at least three times a week. Some people its a glitch in the brain, while others think its a higher level of our brain trying to puch through, Personally, I vote for the second option, since we use less than 20% of our brain power.

Future dreams and the theories of psychologists aside, let me drop my own ideas on you...
We live in a universe that theoretical physicists are just now realizing is based in a sort of "quantum foam". This quantum foam not only has us in it, but uncountable parallells of us and all of our lives in it as well. When two of these separate realities merge momentarily (due to very close similarities) at a cusp, we get the physical sensation of dejavu. As an example of an alternate reality, you're the one sitting at your lap-top typing up this answer right now and I'm the one that posted the question...
That's my answer!! I hope you like it!

We do indeed dream of our own futures. And when we see
what we dreamed in our waking life, we get the deja vu,
(already seen), experience.
