Trademarks can be names of products or services, logos, slogans, packaging and even sounds and smells. In essence, a trademark can be almost anything that is used to identify a particular product or service. Registering a trademark grants the owner exclusive rights to the mark within the specified industry.
Here's what Wiki has to say about a brand & I liked the definition so I wanted to share it with you here:
"In marketing, a brand is the symbolic embodiment of all the information connected with a product or service. A brand typically includes a name, logo, and other visual elements such as images or symbols. It also encompasses the set of expectations associated with a product or service which typicaly arise in the minds of people. Such people include employees of the brand owner, people involved with distribution, sale or supply of the product or service, and ultimate consumers."

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

They can be the same thing. A brand is the name of a product, such as Dell, Tide, Pepsi, or Chevrolet. A trade mark is a symbol used to identify a product. The trade mark is registered with the Patent Office and provides legal protection for the brand. The symbol can be the brand name presented in a particular form, such as the oval Ford symbol or the name DELL with the E tilted to the left. You can create a brand without registering it as a trade mark, however, it would not have the protection a trade mark offers.
